THE COMANCHE COUNTY HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION BOARD “FIFTIES” FUN(D)RAISER IS HUGE SUCCESS |
|
|
The 2nd Annual Fun(d)raiser by The Comanche County Healthcare Foundation Board of Directors, held on September 29th, was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed the "Fifties" (50's) theme as evidenced by the “50's” clothing and dancing to the great “50's” music from the “All That Jazz Band”. It was fun to listen to everyone reminiscing as they visited while enjoying the fabulous meal provided by Joe Allen's of Abilene. Great praise was given for the hand-cut, fire grilled steaks, cooked on site; delicious side dishes and cobbler finished out the scrumptious meal. Tri-County Dairy Association provided your favorite ice cream flavors to top off the cobbler. Some great door prizes added to the excitement of the event and everyone was encouraged to bid on the wide array of silent auction items which was a new additional feature this year. The Live Auction with Doug Johnston was the highlight of the evening. Among the 45 items available for bid were a registered Angus bull, a wonderful spa trip to Tucson, AZ., a buffalo, 2 Angus heifers, Longhorn steer “Fiesta”, deer rifle, autographed football helmets, quilts, dining certificates, a set of Michelin tires and much, much more. Early strong ticket sales, the silent and live auctions and wonderful donations put our figures around $62,000 which exceeded the events income from last year. The Comanche County Healthcare Foundation Board wishes to thank everyone who made this possible. Comanche County folks always come through. More "Thank You"s to come!! |
